'Golf reference offended me'
Sir,
I have just read Mr. Perkins’ article on HIPs in the May edition of EAN,
and to say the least I’m offended by his suggestion that “small solicitors” are
not geared up for HIPs and delay the conveyancing procedure by spending time
on the golf course.
If this is his view, then it is not too well researched and one wonders what
research he has put into his learned opinion on the impact of HIPs.
I am a small high street solicitor who plays golf at the weekends and I have
been able to offer a HIP for over a year.
I might say that having written to the local estate agents that I have dealt
with for over 30 years saying that I’m HIP-ready, there has not been the
courtesy of a response.
JAMES O’NEILL,
Solicitor,
London Road,
Morden, Surrey.
