Bunk, David!

WITH the greatest respect to David Perkins, his May issue HIPs Countdown Special, headed ‘History is Bunk’ should read ‘HIPs story is bunk’!

All of us with enough experience of dealing at the sharp end of residential property sales know that, with the possible exception of cash buyers purchasing empty properties, HIPs are a bureaucratic nightmare — impractical to implement, impossible to police.

They will substantially add to the cost of moving and be utterly useless to most purchasers.

Surely someone intelligent in the Government will realise this before it is too late. If not, prepare for ‘Homeowners are revolting’ headlines!
